“Aw, man,” I whined. “The presidential debate is on tonight which is totally going to ruin my TV watching.”
Jeff looked up from his computer and rolled his eyes.
I was so excited when a couple of weeks ago, fall TV returned. Each night I have ‘my shows’ that I like to watch. It’s just a little thing that makes me happy.
But now the debates are on. I know that I should care but I just don’t.
I know, I know, I am setting a horrible example for my children but they don’t care either. They would rather be watching Calliou and Power Rangers.
I’ll just turn to the internet, because every thing on the internet is true, and review each candidate when voting gets closer.
I got time.
As I flipped through the channels soon I was rewarded with one of the best movies of all time, Pretty Woman which was to be followed by Dirty Dancing.
I smiled and settled in for a good night.
One thing you can always count on, a romantic comedy on TV.
And that is perhaps one of the reasons I love them so much.

You are too cute. I love Rom/Coms too. Trying to think of my own favorite… but there are so many!
There truly are a lot… I wonder if any person could watch them all?
Probably not without some emotional meltdown.
Birds of a feather, we are. The only thing that could lure me away from back-to-back Pretty Woman/Dirty Dancing action? Is a John Hughes marathon.
Me too – although the wackier the premise, the better. For me, it doesn’t get any better than Miss Congeniality. Oh to be as gorgeous and goofy as Sandra Bullock!
I know what you mean, I LOVE Tina Fay and her movie Date Night. That movie had everything… romance, suspense, and funny.
You’re too cute. I wouldn’t call myself a *huge* fan of romantic comedies, but there are definitely some stand-outs for me. I’m always surprised by how much I love the movie Hitch. That’s a great one!
I totally agree with you. Hitch is a great movie.
The ultimate for me is Sleepless in Seattle.
And last night I just turned it to HGTV.
Gah! I forgot about Man in the Moon. And Sweet Home Alabama. I already knew I forgot Princess Bride. I just can’t stick to three movies. *sigh*
[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ’0 which is not a hashcash value.
I love you! My favorite movie of all time is ‘Cousins’ basically because I want Isabella Rosellini so badly.
Jen– There are so many great shows out there on netflix that I’m sure you have not watched. I know you are a drama girl, since you like Game of Thrones, but have you checked out these series some aren’t even on tv anymore.
The Wire, Breaking Bad(just finished, AWESOME!) 24, The West Wing and Boss (saw just one episode, but have 8 recorded) I can’t imagine you dont’ DVR anything? You are at home enough to catch ALL of your shows?
Let me know if you start watching any of these.
We do have a DVR and I do record all my favorite shows but I have this weird thing were I like to watch TV as it’s happening. I think that if I don’t someone will ruin it for me. So if it is impossible for me to sit down, I know it’s recording.
My husband is a big Breaking Bad fan, I just couldn’t get into the show. And yes, we like to find series to watch together like Game of Thrones and Downton Abby.
Yes, while I enjoy action and mystery type movies I will always always happily watch a romantic comedy. Love all the movies you named. Just watched Sweet Home Alabama again last week
Hehe Rom/Coms are great! I’m a fan of Pretty in Pink, myself. Rom/Com plus John Hughes equals greatness.
