When I go to bed on the eve of a big day, I like to do a double check of my to-do lists in my head. This seems to help me feel more organized and less stressed. I will wake up knowing what I need to tackle. It also is a way for me to remember any last minute details that might need to be done before I go to sleep.
I was doing just that the other night when Jeff walked into the room and began to get undressed for bed. As he was taking his pants off, I sat straight up in bed, threw off the covers and ran out the room. He just stood there pants at half mast watching me.
When I returned to the room, now more calm, he asked, “What was that all about?”
“Oh sorry,” I said, “When you walked into the bedroom and took your pants off, I remembered that I needed to take the sausage out of the freezer.”
With an exasperated sigh he said, “Well, at least me getting undressed makes you think of sausage, not the right kind of sausage but sausage none the less.”
