“Um… ok” Jeff said as he stood behind me, watching.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing,” Jeff replied.
“Come on, what?” I begged. “Is is bad?”
“No,” Jeff hesitated, “I guess, I just don’t get it.”
“What do you mean, you don’t get it. What is there to get?” I replied.
“Well, it has nothing to do with the song. It’s just kind of crazy all over the place,” Jeff clarified.
“Yeah, I know” I said, “That is kind of the point.”
“Oh…” Jeff said.
“The song is from the 1960’s, the time of hippies and craziness so that is what I was going for. Random dancing craziness with Claire singing,” I said.
“Well then, you have hit the nail on the head,” Jeff said as he walked away.
“Mommy, I wanna see!” the kids echoed each other as they all tried to climb into my lap.
I pushed my chair back, balanced three small people on my lap and played the video again.
Soon the room was filled with laughter as each one of the kids laughed at the silliness.
“See,” I called to Jeff who was on the couch reading, “The kids get it, they think it’s funny.”
I could feel Jeff roll his eyes at me.
Which caused me to respond with, “I guess you just don’t get funny!”
That’s right, friends.
