Jake and the Chair

by Jen on March 6, 2010

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who had a great love of rockets.
His favorite show was ‘Little Einsteins’.
So his Grandparents brought him a rocket chair.

This chair made the little boy very, very, very happy.
He sat in his chair everyday.

Oh, how the boy loved his chair.
But like all the other furniture in the house, rocket chair was jumped on.
And like most things that get jumped on, the chair broke.

This made the little boy very, very, very sad.
In fact a tear or two has been shed.

But the little boy had a mommy who loved him so.
She knew he was oh so sad about his rocket chair.
So she took him to play in a really, really big rocket.

And the boy was happy once again.
The End.
(I hope that its always this easy to make him happy.)

My two year old would loooooove that chair. And, my five year old would pop it in approximately 3.5 seconds.

Good, Mommy. Nothing beats seeing a real live rocket.

Well…maybe seeing a volcano with lots of “hot lava” but not MUCH beats a rocket.

Aw, the love between a boy and his rocket.
Wait… that sounded wrong.

Well, you know what I mean! I’m glad it was so easy to make him happy again– may it always be so simple :-)

I’m pretty sure rockets make males happy right on into adulthood.

The only problem is when he asks for the “new” rocket chair to be in the house!

We actually patched that darn chair 4 times. But there is only so much patching a chair can take. We just had to let it die.

What a good mom.

We had a chair like that only it was the thinking chair from Blue’s Clues. It died after only a few months :(
