Memory Lane Monday

by Jen on July 21, 2008

Last October, we had the babies baptized. A while ago I realized that I had not blogged about this event. Which is a real shame. So today, I am going to take a walk down memory lane to this very special event. Where we dedicated our youngest children to God and they became part of our church family.
This was a very important event in our family. First, it was the first time that we brought the babies to church. Our church family was so supportive during and after my pregnancy. They brought us gifts, meals, visited me in the hospital and flooded heaven with tons and tons of prayers. It was just amazing. I know that I could not have gotten through this with out them.
Second, we gave the babies back to God. Baptism is an important event in our family. We, as parents, start by baptizing our children and promise to bring them up in loving and God fearing home. In hopes that one day, they will grow to know Jesus and their Lord and Savior.
Lastly, and what I am most proud of (besides the above reasons), is that for their baptismal gowns the babies worn my wedding dress. My mom took my wedding dress and made the gowns from it. My mom did an absolutely fabulous job! I was so proud to have the babies wear their outfits. The only problem was that it was for such a short time.
There are some pictures from that day and of the gowns. It is my hope that some day these gowns can be worn by my grandchildren.

The three beautiful outfits.

The whole family.
(Yes, Hayden is crying in the picture. He was not happy about taking pictures because it meant he had to stop running around. It was very late, way past lunch time, and really, really close to nap time.)

YAY! Another person who has used the squeeze bottle pancake idea! I have never even thought of colors, that sounds like fun!

Such a special day, a baptism. And great outfits too. I will not have the heart to cut up my wedding dress though – hoping my daughter will wear it one day.
