Once upon a time, there was a tree.
He was a tall and strong tree.
He held his ground in the wind and in the rain.
He reached for the sun, turned his leaves green in the spring and summer,
let them be different colors in fall,
and then drop off in the winter.
He was a good tree.
But there was something that he just didn’t like.
When you looked around, he looked just like all the other trees in the yard.
He wanted to be different.
He wanted to be special.
He wanted to be colored on.
Each day, he watched the kids that lived in the house color on all kinds of things,
the house,
the van,
the side walk.
He wished that he too get some color.
Then one day, early in the day before the tree had opened his leaves for the day,
he got his wish.
For he had been colored too.

They’re just doing their part to keep our environment beautiful. And really, who wouldn’t want a pink and blue tree????

My kids keep “making” huge piles of pillows and jumping on them. I don’t have a picture to link you to, cause it makes me so mad and I just stand there yelling PUT THE DAMN PILLOWS BACK ON ALL OUR BEDS over and over, cause I’m so sick of it.
It’s the darndest thing.

I LOVE this! My MiL wrote a book about the tree they used to play in as children so, this reminded me of that:-)

See, yet another sign displaying your kids’ extraordinary creativity! In my 13 years as a mother, not one of my four has ever colored on a tree.
By the way, is this the same tree that took a beating a few posts ago??

lol! Our house, swing set, and fence often look like we were hit by a couple of graffiti artists, too!!

Awesome thinking out side the box on the kids make the darndest things. And I love how you told it from the tree’s point of view.

Nice! I think Rocky would have a fit if Maggie did that, if we had any trees that is.
